An investment services company in Connecticut is looking to add a new Senior Accountant to their growing team. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting & financial reporting of the firm's portfolio companies across a wide range of industries.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:
- Overseeing external bookkeepers, to ensure accurate and timely management reporting
- Managing accounts payable processes and optimize financial workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborating with the investment team to conduct in-depth financial research, analysis, and documentation for strategic decision-making
- Leading ad hoc projects related to financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to support the overall financial health of the portfolio
- Providing comprehensive support to senior executives, including the Principal, in managing personal and family finances
- Supporting the Controller in various financial tasks and assisting the CFO with financial strategies and initiatives
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of Public Accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Taxation
- CPA or parts passed
- Background in either Audit and/or Tax
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
