Automation / Electrical Controls Technician (3.00PM – 11.00 PM M-F - On-Call Weekends)
JOB SUMMARY
This individual will play a critical hands-on role in troubleshooting and maintaining the electrical power and control systems of production equipment.
Conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing
Requirements
• Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Wiring [including 120/480 Volts]
• Perform Troubleshooting, Preventive, and Ongoing Maintenance for Production Lines including Electrical Repairs, Replace Components such as: Motors and Motor Drives, Pumps, Sensors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Transmissions, Make Adjustments keeping in mind Quality, Tolerances, and Order of Operations.
• Ability to Work Safely and Independently while Troubleshooting and Repairing Electrical and Controls Problems on all Equipment in Assigned Department.
• Build and Modify Existing Electrical Controls Systems for Production Equipment including Physical Equipment
• Demonstrate Understanding of Proper Safety Practices as it relates to Performing Work on Electrical Equipment (LOTO & ARC-FLASH)
• Perform Regular Preventive Maintenance on Machines
• Possess Specialized Skill Sets to Include: HMI, PLC, VFD, and Network Interfaces [Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Control Techniques]..
• Understanding of Networks including Ethernet, DeviceNet, and/or Profinet.
• Knowledge of Siemens S7 Family of PLCs and how to Troubleshoot and Make Changes using SIMATIC Manager or TIA Portal.
• Knowledge of Rockwell Family of PLCs and how to Troubleshoot and Make Changes using RSLogix or SoftLogix Software.
• Self-Motivated and Works Independently to Solve Problems and Implement Solutions.
• Maintains Good Interpersonal Skills and Develops Good Working Relationships with Peers and all Levels of Management.
• Ability to Maintain a Good Attendance Record.
• Ensure that the Policies and Procedures of the Company are Followed.
• Ability and Willingness to Work Scheduled On Weekend On-call Coverage
• Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Must Have Own Tool
Education and Experience:
• Minimum 2 Year Technical Degree in Related Field
• 3 Years Experience
• Familiarity with CAD Systems(s)
• Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Plastic Extrusion Experience a Plus
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to Lift 50 lbs
