Mental Health Group Facilitator IOP/PHP
(Contract/ Part-time- Days)
Job Description:
The group facilitator is responsible for creating a safe and non-judgmental space to facilitate discussions regarding mental health needs and treatment. The group facilitator will guide clients in learning to maintain a more stable life and overcome barriers. The group facilitator will utilize several treatment modalities and techniques to ensure client engagement and success.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and guide treatment groups with a focus on mental health including processing groups, psychoeducation groups, skill building sessions, and client-centered activities.
· Utilize a variety of treatment modalities (CBT, mindfulness, role-playing, motivational speaking, art therapy, music therapy, yoga/meditation, etc.)
· Empower group members to self-disclose and encourage collaboration within the group
· Document group sessions as required
· Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws and regulations
· Monitor client participation and compliance in treatment
· Collaborate with clinicians and escalate concerns to appropriate supervisors
· Demonstrates urgency, consistency, and professionalism regarding all Tangu responsibilities
Skills and Qualifications:
· A minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating groups in a mental health setting
· High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or professional certification
· Knowledge of addiction treatment and the treatment of co-occurring disorders
· CPR/First Aid Certification
· Ability to successfully pass a background check
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to resolve conflicts as necessary
Personnel Policy:
Observes professional dress code by wearing business casual attire.
Refrains from social relationships with clients or their families during treatment and during the time that the clients are normally eligible for After-Care service.
Maintains clearly defined boundaries and effectively sets limits with clients and staff members.
Maintains high levels of ethics and respect for co-workers, visitors, clients, family, and program staff.
Follows Tangu policies regarding work schedule, absences, and requests for time-off in an appropriate manner.
Ability to follow Tangu Program Policies/Procedures.
