Tara Pharmacy currently has a great opportunity available for a Pharmacy Technician in Birmingham, AL. This is a full-time position with great pay and benefits.
Summary:
Assists Pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and packaging of prescriptions.

Assists Pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and packaging of prescriptions.
DUTIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory and understands more familiar formulations and strengths of medications.
- Demonstrates knowledge of labeling and packaging requirements for pharmaceuticals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the use of pharmacy software including order entry, refilling, and profiling of standing orders.
- Possesses current technician certificate in the state where employed.
- Completes all continuing education for certification as required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Acts appropriately under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services.
- Maintains a current, valid certificate as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
- Prefer (not required) a minimum of one (1) year of experience in long term care pharmacy setting. Retail and Hospital techs welcome to apply.
- Possesses knowledge of pharmacy ordering and packaging processes.
- QS1 experience is a plus, but not required.
- Maintains rapport with outside medical professionals.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
