We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Cloud Software Development to spearhead our cloud software team. This role involves strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on management of our cloud software development team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, software development best practices, and a passion for driving innovation. Familiarity with the networking/telecom domain is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

• Define and implement the cloud software development strategy aligned with the company’s vision and business objectives.
• Create an aggressive and holistic roadmap that takes into account the customer needs, technical architecture, tools, and industry trends
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.
• Foster a culture of customer obsession, ownership, innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the development team.
• Continuously implement mechanisms to improve software quality and engineering efficiency

Technical Expertise:

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based applications and services.
• Ensure the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD, SRE, and automated testing.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and ensure the company remains at the forefront of cloud technology.

Project Management:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as the primary point of contact for cloud development initiatives, engaging with key stakeholders to gather requirements and provide project updates.
• Work closely with product management, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10 years of experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring development teams including international remote teams
• Proven track record of successfully delivering highly scalable and resilient cloud-based projects
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Expertise in microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing
• Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Focus on operational excellence with proven experience driving debug and resolution for operational issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the networking/telecom domain is a huge plus
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g.,Layer2/Layer3/TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), tunneling, VPN, network security, and software-defined networking (SDN)
  • Deep understanding of management plane technologies (Yang models for configuration and telemetry, GRPC, GNMI, GNOI)
• In depth understanding of LTE/WIFI/Spectrum management technologies is a huge plus
• Experience with machine learning and big data technologies.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

The salary range for this position is: $215,000 to $275,000

Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to: skill set, years of experience and the employee’s geographic location.
