Targetbase is Hiring a Copywriting Residency Near Irving, TX

About The RoleTo help us create these experiences, we are seeking curious, collaborative writers and recent college grads to join our creative group for an onsite residency. You will bring a base level of copywriting knowledge, a high-energy attitude, and readiness to learn to your residency at Targetbase. In addition to learning the art and science of powering your storytelling with data, you will gain important real-world skills, including how to give compelling presentations, how to partner with an art director, and how to collaborate beyond the creative department. Writers-in-residence would report to a group creative director who is a copywriter by trade and our senior copywriters will provide hands-on mentoring regarding day-to-day work. A Day In The Life Of The ResidencyAs a writer in residence, you will participate in developing and creating concepts for all forms of communication, advertising, and promotional materials. You will translate established creative direction into conceptual ideas. Also, you will collaborate with project teams to plan, analyze, organize, and execute assigned projects, writing necessary copy to meet creative objectives. On a given day, a writer in residence will spend time:
Synthesizes key project information and applies the resulting knowledge in developing effective and imaginative copy concepts that support the project’s objectives
Presents concepts to Client Service team for discussion and approval, compellingly and with an authoritative manner
Supports creative concepts by providing verbal and written rationales as requested
Executes creative in multiple mediums by writing innovative copy using vivid language and examples appropriate to the client’s needs
Examines copy consistently throughout a project to ensure it is cohesive
Ensures deliverables integrate with all other tactics within a campaign
Ensures high-quality deliverables by following established processes
What You Bring To The Table
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or Marketing Communications or diploma from copywriting program
Must be a recent graduate or up to one year of experience
Writing samples or an online portfolio
Prior internships are a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills
Aptitude for creative problem-solving
Other Things You Should Know
We work a hybrid schedule
3 days in office (Tuesday-Thursday)
2 days at home (Monday & Friday)
Must be in the DFW area or willing to relocate
Overtime as necessary
