Nutrition Educator Assistant Summer Intern
Part-time, 20 hours per week

Empowering our community to alleviate hunger and improve health.
Overview
We are seeking summer interns to assist our Nutrition Educators with cooking and gardening classes, including recipe demonstrations and garden workshops.
Responsibilities
Assist with nutrition education programs in a variety of settings, including schools, community centers, and farmers markets.
Rotate through a variety of programs, including community gardens, healthcare clinics, community organizations and the TAFB Community Kitchen.
Assist and participate in program activities and events.
Serve as an instructor/volunteer assistant for education programs.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Work Environment
Classes are conducted in a community setting, a kitchen, and in outdoor environments; while working in gardens, may encounter harsh weather, insects and/or irritating plants.
This position requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
Must have reliable transportation, the ability to drive independently, and a valid driver’s license. Use of company fleet vehicles and/or mileage reimbursement is provided.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
