Position Title: Grants Manager

Department: Program Development

Reports To: PDD Director and Senior Supervisor I

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the PDD Director and Grants Program Operations Supervisor (POS) III, the Grants Manager is responsible for the following activities:

  • Coordinating procedures and activities associated with the submission of funding applications to public and private entities at the federal, state and local level.
  • Lead writes and/or assist in writing, editing, proofreading private and public grant application narratives in response to posted funding applications.
  • Lead writes and/or assist in preparing, editing, proofreading grant/programs reports in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Manage a grants application calendar across multiple program areas.
  • Research funding entities to meet new and continuing agency program, patient service and capital funding needs.
  • Work collaboratively with grant application writing team to ensure the timely completion of all activities associated with application submission.
  • Track application submissions and conduct follow up so as to determine the application outcome.
  • Research, collect and summarize agency programs and services as required for proposal submissions.
  • Assist in the development of monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities associated with agency grant writing activities.
  • Ensure the maintenance of current data, documents and forms that are routinely utilized in all application submissions.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director/Supervisor.

SALARY RANGE

$25.50 - $36 / per hour DOE

HOURS

8 per Day / 5 Days per Week

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES

  • Collaborate with the Director of Program Development, agency Directors, Supervisors and outside consultants to identify agency funding priorities and locate appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Manage the activities of the grant application/writing team to ensure timely and proper completion of all activities associated with a grant application.
  • Utilize a project management approach in the identification and completion of activities associated with grant submissions and report any barriers associated with the timely and proper completion of all grant submissions to Supervisor.
  • Participate in Grants meeting and report on status of applications in progress, particularly any delays in the completion of identified tasks.
  • Maintain an electronic database that contains the contact information for all grant consultants, contacts for letters of support, and documents/forms commonly utilized in grant applications.
  • Interview and gather program information from agency Directors, Supervisors, and other Staff to determine new/continuing program design, SOW, budget, and program evaluation requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of current general and behavioral healthcare issues and trends and participate in staff development and training as appropriate.
  • Respond to requests of LOS, LOI’s, and/or MOU’s made by other community agencies and which have been determined to be appropriate by Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director/Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree in education, public health, social work or related area preferred. A BA/BS, plus a minimum of two (2) years program planning, implementation and evaluation experience may be substituted for a Masters level degree. Must have superb written and verbal communication and coordination skills; must have ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals; and must have ability to quickly assess possible barriers in timely completion of grant applications. Must have excellent computer skills and be comfortable creating and generating tables and reports.
