In our Treatment Services, we provide outpatient (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) for adults who have substance use disorders. We offer these services in several TASC locations in Illinois, and via telehealth as well.
We are currently looking for full-time – Counselor
Starting at $100K– contingent upon experience, education, etc.
Summary: This position provides a broad range of comprehensive behavioral health services within the guidelines established by the agency and Medicaid. These services will include assessing a client’s clinical needs and delivering behavioral health services.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides education and support through Intensive Outpatient program which will include family, individual, and group counseling or facilitation in both a didactic and process group format.
- Maintains a therapeutic alliance with clients through appropriate treatment services and/or programs and collaterals.
- Required to complete comprehensive behavioral health assessment to determine the client’s current MH and SUD diagnosis, their strengths and abilities and current goals and needs on an as needed basis.
- Collaborates with the client to develop and/or review an individualized treatment plan
- Completes continued stay reviews and collaborates with client in developing a discharge and continuing care plan.
- Assesses, identifies and responds to emergency or crisis needs of clients.
- Activity participates in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings, regular supervisory and team meetings.
- Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with external social service, mental health and treatment providers
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, in social work, psychology, sociology, business from an accredited college or university or related field or four years’ experience in human services. Certain programs may require a higher level of education based on contractual obligations. (Master Degree)
- Ability to obtain CADC certification within the first two years in the field
- Specific knowledge necessary for working with individuals and families engaged in high-risk behaviors
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation
