This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing teams at TD, during TD's modernization of Payments in North America and the globe!
This role will lead a team that is delivering on an exciting modernization strategy in the Payments space. This leader will ensure that we deliver on one of the most competitive areas for TD, building and launching differentiating client experiences while also ensuring that we are operating the most stable, secure, and predictable customer experiences that we are expected to offer.
Job Description / AccountabilitiesReporting to the VP, Enterprise Payments Technology, the AVP, High Value Payments Technology is a leader and Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the technology responsibility of overseeing a team of professionals focused on the management and evolution of the US Wires Platform for TD. In the short term this includes the delivery of an ISO20022 solution for Fedwire and SWIFT, and in the medium-to-longer term the end-to-end modernization of US Wires processing. The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Accountable for the technology strategy, delivery, and ownership of all US Wires applications and projects.
  • Technology Strategy in this context includes the definition of improvements to the overall scalability and functionality of the platform, appropriate usage of vendor solutions, modernization/currency approach to the platform, optimizing the team structure and delivery approach.
  • Maintains strong relationships with all lines of businesses to understand the future needs of the platform and to aid in the alignment of roadmaps and adoption of capabilities.
  • Actively works with upstream and downstream technology partners to ensure the end-to-end design and delivery of new capabilities/enhancements align with the future needs of the platform.
  • Maintains relationships with the Federal Reserve and SWIFT on technology matters and other relevant Payment participants.
  • Actively participates in the industry to both maintain strong relationships as well as stay abreast of new developments/opportunities to further develop the platform.
  • Ultimately on the line for the successful function of the US Wires platform capabilities for customers – ensures clear and timely communication, resolution, and remediation of any issues encountered.
  • Ensures strong financial oversight through end-to-end management of technology costs, delivery/project execution cost management, maintenance and run costs during planning, forecasting ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is determined, reconciling with regularly-maintained team capacity plan.
  • Effectively partners with and leverages Quality Engineering (QE), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Agile Centre of Excellence (CoE), Delivery, Release Management, Infrastructure Technology Solutions (ITS) and other Technology functions.
  • Proactively manages risk and compliance for application stack.
