Job DescriptionThe Investigative Analyst provides a broad range of physical security and operational support related to TD's security and risk programs. Develops and evaluates documentation and procedures to ensure standards and processes meet the business needs to identify security risks and vulnerabilities across all TDBG locations. Supports investigations, risk assessments, policy and program development, including attestations, investigations, risk mitigation, life safety and security programs, and coordinating with internal and external partners.

  • Works within broad guidelines / policies and independently performs tasks from end to end
  • Work performed under minimal management guidance and supervision
Education & Experience
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of physical security and crime prevention methods, regulatory environment, banking industry, products, services, systems and reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends
  • Skill in conducting tests and inspections of products, services, systems, equipment and processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions
  • Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build relationships and mentor/coach others
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Customer Accountabilities
  • Monitors trends or actions that may impact the bank and provide data and insights to support various GSI teams with internal and external investigations and projects
  • Researches, designs and implements best in class security risk management programs, developing effective risk mitigation solutions to support program objectives and drive decision making
  • Coordinates and develops plans and meetings with designated business lines and stakeholders to complete security threat and risk assessments; ensures physical security losses are documented and risk reporting carried out, which may include drafting and distributing notifications regarding threats/risks
  • Incident management which may include identification and management of traveler assets and safety, and advice to travelers
  • Manages attestation cycle, updating internal documents and maintaining processes/procedures
  • Leads required remediation activities recommended within the team or direct line of business
  • Reviews and provides physical security design recommendations for retail and corporate facilities, coordinates and arranges physical security resources at events, and provides support to manage physical security and emergency response plans
  • Delivers support to businesses across access control systems by performing tests, troubleshooting and generating reports, which includes commissioning and testing of security technology to ensure retention standards are met
  • Works closely with security vendor to install risk technology equipment and helps ensure tasks are delivered accurately and completed within deadlines
  • Works closely with internal and external business owners, stakeholders and physical security specialists to review and obtain support for the build out of standards, processes and recommendations

  • Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
  • Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area
  • Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and managse risks, and escalates non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary
  • Conducts reporting and / or meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
  • Maintains appropriate project records, databases and information; reports to management and others on project status and updates
  • Monitors service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist
  • Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others
  • Identifies, recommends and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline
  • Adheres to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Guides work streams by acting as a project lead for small scale projects / initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of data analytics experience in relation to fraud investigations
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
