TDA Research, Inc., located outside Denver, Colorado with research offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden, is seeking its next Assistant Controller. The company has a staff of over 100, which consists of mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy, and chemical industries. We rely on a high level of technical competence and efficiency within our team and look for motivated, talented, and skilled innovators to join us in supporting the mission of the company. The Assistant Controller position is an integral part of the administrative team and helps to ensure that the month-end close process is accurate and efficient. This position will oversee the AR and AP functions, oversight of payroll, will prepare the monthly financial statements, and will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, this position will also entail responsibilities for audit support as well as compliance with various federal reporting requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including month-end close
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results, and preparation of monthly accounting reports
• Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements, including ad-hoc
• Assessing current accounting operations and offering recommendations for improvement
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Assisting in the oversight of regulatory reporting
• Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Must be able to work harmoniously with both employees and other management personnel
• Analyze and explain variances from annual budgets
• Coordinate external audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies (DCAA), in conjunction with the CFO, and oversee preparation of required items

Required Education and Experience:

• Degree in accounting or finance required
• Demonstrated accounting and finance knowledge with at least three to five years supervisory experience
• Excel in a time-sensitive, deadline driven environment with the ability to prioritize and keep a positive outlook
• Detail oriented problem solver
• Superior verbal and written communication skills with all levels

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL project-based accounting software a plus
• Knowledge of Government Contractor Cost Accounting requirements and understanding of FAR/DFARs requirements is a plus.

Pay Range is $95,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year, with the full benefits package and opportunity for growth.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors as education, experience, skill set, and/or location.
