TDK is Hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Near Neptune, NJ

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES including the following. Others may be assigned.
  • Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean, organized and free of hazardous conditions, run local errands; and other duties as assigned. Proficiency with basic hand tools and small power driven tools required.
  • Perform general maintenance works, such as minor plumbing repairs and minor electrical repairs, replacing light bulbs and switches, repairing extension cords, and hanging fixtures as well as carpentry, painting, and machine servicing to avoid possible failures and malfunctions.
  • Assist in developing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Complete daily work assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Analyze repairs requests and troubleshoot them.
  • Perform installations, assembling, fittings, repairs, and replacements as needed.
  • Handle emergency maintenances and repair works.
  • Stock adequate maintenance materials and equipment to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities.
  • Maintain work area clean, safe and organized.
  • Operate maintenance equipment safely to avoid accidents.
  • Maintain the maintenance tools and equipment in safe, clean and good working conditions.
  • Provide assistance to co-workers when needed.
  • Attend job training and safety programs organized by maintenance department.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES :This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS :To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EXPERIENCE :Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
EDUCATION :High School Diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS : Intermediate skills : Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, or Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software.Must also be able to perform limited troubleshooting.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Intermediate Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY : Intermediate Skills : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
