Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Computer Information System, Program Coordinator Near Atlanta, GA

The Program Coordinator for the Computer Information Systems program provides leadership and oversight to ensure the effective functioning of the department. This role involves curriculum development, faculty supervision, and program advocacy. The ideal candidate should hold a master’s degree in computer science or a related field and possess significant programming experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Review:
    • Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of goals and objectives related to the CIS curriculum.
    • Coordinate curriculum development and review activities within the department.
    • Maintain currency of instructional techniques and methods.
  2. Program Leadership:
    • Advocate for program resources and support.
    • Coordinate the program advisory committee.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement procedures and suggestions from the Program Advisory Board for continuous improvement.
  3. Faculty Supervision:
    • Assist in identifying and recruiting potential faculty.
    • Participate in interview selection committees.
    • Provide initial departmental orientation and training to new hires.
  4. Budget Management:
    • Provide input on program budget needs, including part-time salaries, supplies, equipment, and travel.
    • Monitor departmental expenditures for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  5. Marketing and Outreach:
    • Assist in marketing the CIS program to potential students.
    • Make presentations to schools, organizations, and other contacts.
    • Provide input on marketing materials and literature.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Academic Dean & other members of college leadership to achieve departmental goals

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software, including operating systems and virtual machines.
  • Significant programming experience.
  • Experience with curriculum development and review.
  • Experience with program advisory committees.
  • College teaching experience.
  • Online teaching experience.
