Team Red Dog is Hiring a Finance Analyst Near Seattle, WA

Are you abusiness and budget analyst with problem-solving superpowers and a minimum of two yearsrelevant finance experience or combined education and work experience? Opportunity Overview:

Working closely with a grant-focused team, you’ll be tasked with processing complex financial reporting and fiscal analysis of both non-federal and federal accounts. Specifically, this involves analyzing, projecting, interpreting, planning, and reviewing fiscal activities and operations across various disciplines to effectively prepare reports, billings, and reconciliations. You’ll also manage team budgets from setup to closeout. What’s more, your point of view matters, as you’ll be offering recommendations for and supporting development of finance procedure and policies, as well as system enhancements to improve and streamline office workflow. You’ll work as part of a culture that embraces lean process improvement and continual change — and everyone on the team collaborates daily to point out opportunities for process improvement and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Review various awards to ensure they are in compliance with guidance and have been properly reconciled. Review accounting system for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review documents related to new awards, revisions, renewals, and supplements for existing and new grant and contract supported projects.
  • Perform complex analysis on accounting transactions related to processes across multiple systems to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and resolve issues before entering information in the Financial Accounting System. Investigate discrepancies and resolve errors independently.
  • Work with process partners to resolve payment issues.
  • Analyze, report on, and summarize complex data and/or business management activities.
  • Collaborate with the team daily to identify and carry out process improvements.
  • Deliver timely support and guidance regarding procedures related to company, federal and state processes, requirements, and procedures.
  • You may also work with sponsors, including state, federal, and private funding agencies, to share information and resolve issues regarding sponsored research.
  • Engage in special assignments requested by your Manager.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with major in business administration, accounting, or related study, plus two years of fiscal experience or equivalent education/experience combination
  • Strong analytic skills and high attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access
