Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our diverse database environment. This position will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and security of critical databases supporting our core applications and business processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle, along with a deep understanding of database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
  • Perform daily operational activities and maintenance tasks on DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
  • Plan, design, implement, and support database structures, including schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning measures to optimize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive database administration procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough SQL code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other technical staff on database administration best practices.
• Data Architecture:
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain an overall data architecture that aligns with department standards and industry security practices.
  • Ensure that database and warehousing designs are robust, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
  • Participate in the design and development of new applications or systems, providing expertise on database integration and optimization.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience:
  • 15 years of combined experience in database administration for the following platforms:
    • DB2 for z/OS
    • SQL Server 2008R2 and 2012
    • Oracle 10g and above
  • Experience with the FDOT integrated database infrastructure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the FDOT Financial Management applications and integrated application environment is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• DB2 for z/OS: Advanced knowledge of application integration, performance management, database administration, upgrading, catalog maintenance, sub-system point-in-time recovery, and monitoring tools.
• SQL Server and Oracle: Solid working knowledge of application integration, performance management, and database administration.
• Mainframe and Infrastructure: Advanced knowledge of JCL, z/OS integrated platform, CA Gen, ISPF, ASG Scheduler, COBOL, z/OS started tasks, IBI z/OS service support, AFOPER commands, RACF, CICS, and IOF.
• Other Tools and Technologies: Working knowledge of Windows Servers, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Azure, z/OS EXITs, and BJS.
• Additional Skills: In-depth knowledge of technical infrastructure implementation planning and coordination, disaster recovery requirements, and verification testing techniques for infrastructure change management.

Hybrid Work Schedule:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing flexibility while maintaining in-person collaboration. You will be expected to work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with the remaining days eligible for remote work.
