We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer contractor to join our team and drive our data science initiatives, focusing on enhancing order fulfillment efficiency, reducing costs, and improving customer experiences. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in data engineering, machine learning, and advanced analytics to provide actionable insights that support business growth and operational excellence.

As a Data Engineer, you will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, integrate data from diverse sources, and develop automated self-service solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver data-driven solutions that provide a competitive advantage. Your work will involve deep statistical analysis, predictive and prescriptive modeling, and the development of dashboard reports to measure key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for efficient data processing.

Data Integration: Ensure data consistency and quality by integrating data from multiple sources.

Database Management: Optimize databases and data warehouses for performance and scalability.

Data Quality Assurance: Implement processes for data cleaning, validation, and quality control.

Advanced Data Analysis: Perform complex data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights related to order fulfillment.

Machine Learning Implementation: Utilize large language models (LLMs) and other ML techniques to generate predictive models and insights.

Dashboard Development: Create and maintain dashboards to track order fulfillment efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial metrics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.

Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation for data processes, models, and pipelines.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and automation.

Technology Adoption: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending new tools and practices.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Experience:

3 years of experience in executing and deploying data science, machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI solutions in a large-scale enterprise setting (fewer years may be accepted with a Masters or Doctorate degree).

5 years of programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.) (fewer years may be accepted with a Masters or Doctorate degree).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SQL and various statistical modeling or machine learning techniques.

Experience with multiple data systems and sources (Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Teradata, etc.).

Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and deployment platforms (Kubernetes).

Strong understanding of linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory.

Proficiency in advanced ML techniques, including regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and feature engineering.

Familiarity with unstructured data types and Knowledge of NLP techniques (sentiment analysis, text classification, topic modeling).

Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks like (langchain, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
