Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in-office, San Antonio, TX)

Duration: 6-month contract to hire

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing complex network solutions across our enterprise. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable.

Responsibilities:

• Network Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures, including data center, campus, and WAN networks.
• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide solutions to ensure optimal network performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, business units, and vendors to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and standards.
• Security: Implement and maintain network security best practices, including firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and access control mechanisms.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer
• 2 years of experience with Enterprise Network architecture in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment
• Strong understanding of:
• Edge Networking
• Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF)
• Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
• Experience with on-premise, private, and public cloud network environments
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible)
• Certifications in network engineering (e.g., CCIE, CCNP)
