TechLink Systems, Inc. is Hiring an URGENT: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (13 weeks) - VA Near Evansville, IN

Job Details

Skills & requirements:
CNMT or ARRT required
General and Cardiac environment experience
Shift Requirements: 8hr Days - Either 630-230, 7-3p, 730-330p or 8-4p Mon-Friday and weekend Saturday shift would be 630-230p.
On Call/Call Back Requirements: Expected response time for call is 1 hour. Call every 4th weekend from after shift on Saturday through Monday morning at 6:30am.
Float Requirements: Will float between Midtown, Gateway, and Heart Hospital -- Daily or Weekly rotation for float, they can be flexible.
Responsibilities:
Patient preparation: Explain procedures to patients, ensure they understand the process, and address any concerns or questions they may have. Technologists also verify patient identification and medical history.
Radiopharmaceutical administration: Prepare and administer radioactive substances, known as radiopharmaceuticals, to patients either orally, intravenously, or by other routes according to the specific procedure requirements.
Imaging procedures: Perform various imaging tests such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and gamma camera imaging to visualize the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals within the patient's body.
Equipment operation: Operate and maintain specialized nuclear medicine equipment, including gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other imaging devices, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging results.
Radiation safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure risks to patients, themselves, and other healthcare personnel. This includes proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
Data analysis: Analyze imaging results and prepare detailed reports for nuclear medicine physicians to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
Patient care: Provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout the imaging process, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Nuclear medicine technologists play a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of various medical conditions, including cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders, by providing valuable information through advanced imaging techniques using radioactive tracers.
