- Sets production priorities for their area of responsibility
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Set clear expectations, provide necessary tools to meet expectations and hold direct reports accountable.
- Maintains compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices and contributes to a positive work environment.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Ensures consistency in processes and procedures between all shifts. Works with other Production Supervisors to coordinate subordinate training, improvement initiatives, and production requirements.
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. May make employment decisions.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems by facilitating and supporting team efforts to identify problems and implement corrective actions. Recognizes team achievements and celebrates successes.
- Works to continuously improve in all areas to achieve realization of estimated costs; on-time delivery of materials and information; improved productivity and workflow; and reduction in errors and rework costs.
- Maintains, stores and requests dies, fixtures, and supplies necessary to meet production schedule.
- Ensures equipment is in good operating condition and all preventative maintenance has been performed. Coordinates repairs and scheduled maintenance with Maintenance Department as required.
- Associate's degree in related field, or six months to one year related experience and/or training.
- Three to five years’ experience working in cutting and forming metals, preferred
- Previous experience leading and directing the work of others.
- Working knowledge of equipment and processes supervised.
