Job Summary

Position Title: Small Cell Maintenance & Repair Technician

Job Overview:

The Small Cell Maintenance & Repair Technician specializes in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of small cell infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and detailed inspections of small cell sites, including radios, base station components, conduits, DC power systems, and fiber optic cables.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in low voltage DC electrical systems and optical fiber connections.
  • Engage in fiber optic troubleshooting and testing to identify and rectify faults, ensuring optimal signal quality and network performance.
  • Utilize specialized equipment for testing and ensuring the proper functioning of cellular RF cabling and antennas.
  • Adjust cables and equipment in various settings (aerial, buried, underground, indoor) according to precise technical specifications for sustained performance.
  • Replace or repair RF cables, radios, and antennas, including the necessary power, fiber, and signal cabling.
  • Accurately interpret construction and repair blueprints and schematics for effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Act as the initial responder to outages, efficiently diagnosing and fixing issues to reduce downtime.
  • Take on additional tasks as required to ensure the network's reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in telecommunications maintenance and repair, specifically with small cell technologies.
  • Preferred OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Required First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • RF Safety Training.
  • Valid driver’s license with the potential to obtain a CDL.
  • Expertise in telecom diagnostic tools, including Power Meters, Sweep Meters, Multi-Meters, OTDRs, and Signal Identifiers.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of regular verbal communication, standing, walking, manipulating objects, reaching, and lifting/moving items up to 70 lbs.

Working Conditions:

Technicians frequently work in environments exposed to dust, debris, moving machinery, and noise, with tasks performed outdoors under various weather conditions. Occasional exposure to extreme conditions at construction sites is expected, requiring readiness to work in loud environments.
