Job DescriptionActivities and duties may vary depending on site-specific needs and daily work assignments. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the maintenance team with daily troubleshooting and repair of electrical, control, and communication systems in a 24x7 production environment. Systems include:
- PLC systems including AB PLC5s, SLC500s, and Logix families (Micro, Compact, Control)
- AB PanelView HMI and Wonderware SCADA systems
- Various communication protocols including fiber optic and ethernet systems
- 480V electrical systems, including coordinated AC and DC drive systems
- 120VAC and 24VDC control systems with industrial field devices
- Leading and contributing to continuous improvement projects to help the plant achieve its safety, quality, service, and cost goals.
- Support the capital improvement plan by planning, completing, and/or approving project deliverables.
- The position will be tasked with working with and training other members of the maintenance team, driving root cause analysis, and improving technical documentation.
- Technical degree in a field related to automation and controls engineering from an accredited university
- Experience in a controls engineering function within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and associated software
- Experience troubleshooting control, communication, and electrical hardware systems
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams in the Autodesk ecosystem
