The Sr. Advanced Quality Engineer provides quality engineering leadership to cross-functional project teams which include New Product Development, Product Support (Product Continuous Improvement and product production transfers), and Value Engineering. Project team members are led by a Project Leader and include Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing. Primary duties are to lead and direct the quality activities of project teams to successfully meet Project Quality Objectives as well as project goals including Time-To-Market, Cost, and Performance. Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Functions - New Product team: Lead and participate in Risk Assessments (product and process design) during the product development cycle using processes such as Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFMA), Design for Service (DFS), and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA). Work with the global operations, materials, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering teams to develop QC mitigation strategies. Coordinate quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, production process readiness (fixtures & work instructions) and control plans (incoming, in-process and outgoing) with New Product Development teams. Collaborate with US, Mexico, and Asia-based manufacturing and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches. Able to call, lead and conduct global cross-functional team members with the following participants: new product development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality and supply chain. Directly support Reliability Engineering counterparts in ensuring product designs can be produced at high volume globally and meet product performance and reliability expectations. Support the development and validation of manufacturing product test processes/equipment to ensure all finished products meet product specifications. Requirements: Master’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Production, Materials Engineering or related engineering field and 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing/Production, Materials Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of relevant experience. Experience must include: Manufacturing quality experience in a regulated product field. Regulated new product development environment. Design support and manufacturing/assembly of electro-mechanical devices and associated components (PCBA’s, wiring harnesses, motors, plastic and metallic structures). Engineering tools such as Critical to Quality/Quality Function Deployment, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Control Plans, Risk Analysis through Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and metrology methods. Proficient in statistical tools such as MiniTab. Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time on an annual basis. Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours continuous in a factory setting.
