POSITION CONCEPT
The Mgr Brand and Digital Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated marketing and communication strategy focused on customers and external stakeholders that helps ensure the successful implementation of the business strategy, goals, and initiatives of Tampa Electric and additional support for the customer communications strategy at Peoples Gas. Leads a team of strategic marketing and communication professionals with a focus on strategy, marketing and execution of effective customer and stakeholder marketing and communication solutions. Partners with leaders throughout Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas to create robust marketing and communication plans, provide sage insight on trends in communication and marketing and provide expert analysis on the effectiveness of campaigns. Work closely with internal communications, brand ambassadors and external communications to educate employees on pertinent topics to better inform and help customers and strengthen the brand and reputation of Tampa Electric.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, coach, and manage the Brand and Digital Marketing (BDM) team in the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communication plan for Tampa Electric with support of the customer communications strategy for Peoples Gas. Oversee strategy and planning for the integrated marketing communications strategy, digital marketing, sports partnerships, and paid promotions on social media channels with input on organic social content. Oversee development of marketing strategies for various customer programs, using research on the market and target audiences to create relevant messaging and creative that gains attention and accomplishes business objectives. Manage and work closely with ad agencies to ensure success of marketing campaigns, optimizing according to results and developing solutions for any weaknesses within budget constraints. Assist with channel strategies, ensuring KPI's are met and/or exceeded including product marketing goals, communication recall and positive sentiment.
  • Provide sage guidance on effective marketing and communication strategies, meaningful analysis, and insight on best practices and current trends. With the support of the Director of Communications and Marketing, ensure the team maintains a strong collaborative relationship with the Channel Management (CM) team, Internal Communications (IC), Creative Content and Development (CCD) team, Digital Customer Experience (DCE) team and Executive Escalations (EE). Work across the groups, sharing expertise across the disciplines, and working closely to provide the optimum solution for our clients and ultimately for our customers.
  • Stay fully informed on company goals, challenges, and projects. Be proactive and fully engaged with company leadership, leaning in to provide strategic guidance on best approaches, possible risks to the company brand and opportunities to advance the company's key messages.
  • Through digital marketing campaigns, provides leadership and guidance on the digital marketing strategy, as well as monitors performance. Ensure that customer communications are in line with the voice of the Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas brands. Keep the messaging relevant, relatable and responsive. Accountable for partnering with Community & Government Relations to integrate digital marketing and advertising strategies within the Integrated Marketing Communication Plan.
  • Accountable for partnering with PGS Sales & Marketing team to support customer communication within PGS's brand strategy.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications/public relations, or related field.
Experience
Required:
  • 6 years progressive experience in Digital Marketing with exposure to brand and communications, including experience in leading transformational marketing and customer communication initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive marketing communications plan, customer communications, brand strategy, digital marketing, sports partnerships, and advertising to advance an organization's mission and goals.
Preferred:
  • B2B and B2C digital marketing campaign experience
  • Experience in a federal or marketing or news environment or regulated entity
Supervisory Experience
Required:
  • 3 years of recent supervisory experience or experience in a team lead/leadership role
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)
Required:
  • Strategic thinker with superior leadership and project management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of digital marketing, social media marketing and strategic communications,
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.
  • Understanding of digital marketing strategy and metrics, with previous experience working with advertising agencies.
  • Extensive writing and editing experience with a variety of print and online communications media.
  • Ability to form effective, consultative working relationships with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders
  • Energetic, self-reliant, good problem solver and results oriented.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management. Demonstrated skill and comfort with external communications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines, exceptional prioritization and organizational skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily normal office environment, some travel is required. Some extended hours may be required due to workload or events on weekends or after hours. Available for on-call and after hours work on projects and issues management.
