Marketing Communications Specialist

The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) is a quasi-government entity established by the Maryland General Assembly for the purpose of growing and developing early state technology start-ups and life sciences companies throughout the state of Maryland. This role provides essential support to TEDCO's Development & Marketing Department.

We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to complete the following job functions.

Essential Job Functions: (Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

* Coordinate and support Development and Marketing team projects, to include traditional and digital marketing campaigns, sponsorships, and market research.

* Provide communications support with outside vendors and across internal departments.

* Organize meetings, maintain notes, and track deadlines for Development and Marketing projects.

* Research, track, and distribute inventory of promotional items.

* Assist with various in-person and virtual special events, including TEDCO's annual Entrepreneur Expo, TEDCO Pop-ups and more.

* Responsible for data management and entry for all sponsorship and vendor information, as well as generating reports (Salesforce and Beanworks).

* Assist with writing and editing content for different platforms such as social media, website, and press releases.

* Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Development & Marketing Department's activities.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or similar field.

* Minimum of two (2) years experience in a marketing or communications role

* Superior time management and organizational skills

* Ability to prioritize work, and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

* Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills.

* Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.

* Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations.

* Proficient in Virtual Meetings Platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.

* Knowledge of e-mail marketing software (Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.).
