Job Title: Accountant (General Ledger)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Type: Hybrid (On-site initially, transitioning to Hybrid based on performance)
Start Date: 07/22/2024 OR 08/05/2024
Employment Type: Temp to Hire (Conversion based on performance at 90 days)
Pay Rate: $31.41/hr.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accountant - General Ledger to assist the Supervisor of the General Ledger with the preparation of general ledger entries and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts for assigned areas. This is a hybrid position with an initial on-site requirement, transitioning to a hybrid schedule after a performance review in 6-8 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Supervisor of General Ledger with general ledger activities.
Maintain and develop amortization schedules for assigned areas.
Review financials for missing invoices related to utilities, telephony, and pre-paid expenses.
Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis and reconciliation of general ledger activity.
Prepare entries to the general ledger, ensuring reliability, propriety, and compliance with GAAP.
Develop and maintain manual procedures and documentation for this functional area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
Education & Experience:
Required:
AA/AS in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
4 years of general ledger experience.
Preferred:
Knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Expertise with financial analysis and reporting.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PeopleSoft.
