About the position : We aresearching for a Level IV (Expert) Denture Technician specializingin endtoend production of dentures partials and fixed / implantdenture cases.

This position is responsible for the most complexremovable restoration cases coordinating the workflow of theremovables department training department team members andproviding expert internal and external customer and technicalsupport.

We will also considerDenturist candidates for this position with competitive pay basedon position qualifications and experience.

Schedule : FullTimeMondayFriday 7 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm with additional OT some days dependingon workload.

Removables Dental Technician JobDescription

SUMMARY

Our Removables Dental Technicians create custom removabledental prosthetics including dentures partials and mouthguards thatrestore patient smiles and enhance their oral and total health.

They follow provider prescriptions and preferences to fabricatefunctional and aesthetically pleasing dentalrestorations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Trainee

• Demonstrates understanding of dental termsbasic dental anatomy and theory of occlusion andfunction.
• Reads and interprets dentalprosthetic prescriptions andpreferences.
• Accurately identifies landmarkson casts and fabricates bite blocks and customtrays.
• Pours impressions of patientsmouth.
• Trims bite and mounts models in properocclusion on an articulator.
• Mixes andprocesses acrylic powder and monomer; handpacksdentures.
• Other duties asassigned.

LevelI

• Successfullyperforms all responsibilities of lowerlevels.
• Contours wire clasps for properretention and aesthetics.
• Grinds and polishesacrylic to create proper support andaesthetics.
• Other duties asassigned.

LevelII

• Successfullyperforms all responsibilities of lowerlevels.
• Demonstrates a practical understandingof occlusion and function.
• Properly setsdentures according to an occlusal scheme as identified by the TeamLeader.
• Sets teeth in partially edentulousarch.
• Performs basic tissuecontouring
• Other duties asassigned.

LevelIII

• Successfullyperforms all responsibilities of lowerlevels.
• Demonstrates comprehensiveunderstanding of occlusion and function of themouth.
• Able to explain which occlusal schemeapplies to the case and independently sets dentures according tothe correct scheme.
• Sets teeth in edentulousarch for aesthetics and function.
• Demonstratescomprehensive understanding / ability to contour wax / acrylic to looklike natural dentition.

LevelIV

• Successfullycompletes all responsibilities of lowerlevels.
• Proficient in allspecialties.
• Coordinates the workflow of thedepartment to ensure the timely processing ofcases.
• Receives incoming notifications fromdepartment team members who will beabsent.
• Serves as subject matter expert andtrains department team members.
• Providesinternal and external technical support to customers andcoworkers.
• Other duties asassigned.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

Educationalcoursework in dental lab technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKENVIRONMENT

• Work isperformed in a temperature controlled environment. Continuousexposure to dust and noise. Occasional skin exposure to acrylicsand to acrylic odor.
• Good manual dexterity andhand / eye coordination. Continuously use arms wrists and hands tograsp / squeeze tools and frequently use foot to operate a footcontrol.
• Continuously perform sedentary work ata workstation.
• Occasionally stand andintermittently walk across levelsurfaces.
• Frequently lift up to 10 pounds;intermittently lift and carry up to 50pounds.
• Occasionally bend twist and walk onlevel surfaces.
