Role Description

This is a contract role for a Controls Engineer/Project Manager. The Controls Engineer/Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to process control, electrical engineering, troubleshooting, motion control, and robotics. They will work on-site in Lafayette, IN and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of projects.

- Will be working on optimizing processes and automation equipment for new model launches.

- Design electrical systems for machinery.

- CAD packages that could be used are: AutoCAD, Solidworks, or CATIA.

- Electrical schematic design.

- Troubleshooting, modifying, and Programming PLC’s and HMI’s.

- Will be working with industrial Networking systems (DeviceNet, TCP/IP, Uniwire)

- Integration and programming of Robotic systems.

- Assisting with Mechanical Systems Design: Ability to read and understand product and equipment mechanical drawings and dimensions. Solid experience troubleshooting, modifying, and specifying mechanical systems.

- Experience with pneumatic piping and control systems. Exposure to air, water, and hydraulic utilities.

- MS Office utilization and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Experience with process control and motion control
• PLC Programming experience.
• Project Management experience.
• Strong background in electrical engineering and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of robotics and automation
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to work on-site in Lafayette, IN
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the automotive or aerospace industries is a plus
