Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled overhead crane service technician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various types of overhead cranes and related equipment at our clients' sites.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years’ experience as an overhead crane service technician.
  • Experience troubleshooting electric motor controls, including 3-phase, single-phase, and DC systems.
  • Five years minimum experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, VFD, and contractor control panels.
  • Must be able to read and take direction in English.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required.
  • Strong understanding of overhead crane operation, mechanics, and electrical systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes in diverse industrial settings.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues related to crane operation, including motors, brakes, controls and wiring.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC, VFD, and contractor control systems for efficient crane operation.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on proper crane service procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Run Conduit.
  • Pull wires and make terminations.
  • Address, mediate, and resolve customer concerns, complaints and issues.
  • Interact regularly and professionally with customers.
  • Perform skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of hoists and cranes.
  • Apply technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot sources of problems by observing mechanical equipment in operation at job sites.
  • Replace defective parts and adjust equipment for optimal use.
