Network Technician

• Position: Network Technician
• Location: Tallahassee, FL (On-Site)
• Compensation: $75,000/yr

Responsibilities:

• Network Monitoring and Management:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Deep understanding of networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Experience in implementing and managing security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
• Experience working in Azure or similar cloud platforms, including developing and implementing security plans and migration strategies.
• Experience provisioning resources in the Cloud (Virtual machines, databases, networking components, storage).
• Experience configuring virtual networks (setting up subnets, security groups, network traffic routing).
• Experience configuring access controls in Azure Active Directory or equivalent.
• Adept at utilizing network monitoring tools and analyzing network performance metrics to identify and address issues proactively.
• Perform ongoing maintenance tasks, including installing patches, updates, and security fixes to keep the network up-to-date and secure.
• Assist with configuration changes to firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, virtual private networks, and the development of security policies and procedures.
• Assist with the configuration and optimization of routers, switches, and access points to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
• Develop and implement strategies for migration from on-premise to cloud networks.
• Analyze and manage network performance and provide the Department with weekly reports.
• Work with the Department to develop disaster recovery plans to ensure network resilience in the face of disasters or disruptions.
• Provide consultation relating to technology trends, network architecture, and strategic planning.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Certifications:

• Possess industry certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network , and Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), among others.
