Job Title: Data Center Engineer (Job ref no: 16046)

Duration: 12 months

Location: Onsite - San Jose, CA

Job Description

• Build, label, rack, cable, support, and decommission IT equipment.
• Manage the server build process for physical and virtual servers (VMs).
• Provide remote hands support for colocation facilities.
• Degauss hard disk drives upon discontinuance of usability; manage equipment reuse, recycling, and disposal.
• Order power circuits and monitor/manage power usage per cabinet.
• Configure network switch ports.
• Provide CCA customer Letters of Authorization (LOAs) and set up corresponding BGP routes.
• Order circuit cross-connects.
• Submit Remedy change requests.
• Provide vendor escorts as necessary.
• Monitor colocation advisement of outages, maintenance work, and shipments.
• Respond to Remedy Work Orders and Tasks assigned to the Global Data Center Operations (DCO) queue.

Additional Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge and experience in data center hardware racking, cabling, initial configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in space, power, and cooling capacity management.
• Experience with procurement and logistics related to data center operations.
• United States citizenship is required.
• The role requires passing criminal and financial background checks.
