SRE Devops (SRE AWS Terraform Java/ python)

Location :New York City, NY (Onsite for 2-3 days)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Cloud Services and Application teams to deliver projects, deploy new features and enhancements, ensuring they meet reliability and performance standards.
2. Design and implement highly available and scalable systems, ensuring the reliability and performance of the company's sites and/or applications.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and establish service level objectives (SLOs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for critical systems.
4. Monitor systems and applications, proactively identifying and resolving any performance bottlenecks or availability issues.
5. Conduct post-incident analyses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents. The SRE will be responsible for escalating to Cloud Support should they determine the issue to be IaaS platform related
6. Responsible for building the automation for any account customizations required by the application (i.e.: custom roles, policies, security groups, etc.)
7. Create and maintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
8. Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure optimal system performance, scalability and reduce spend leveraging cost management tooling.
9. Deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) releases to QA, staging, and production environments.
10. Provide developers build assistance for applications where needed.
11. Environment Cleanup (i.e.: removing old EC2 instances, EBS volume clean up, S3 clean up, etc.)
12. Provide L2 Operational Support, including off-hours incident response (this will be the development teams first point of contact for production support.
13. Follow the enterprise change management process to deploy fully tested and documented solutions/applications to a production environment. Assist in runbook review.
14. Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities.
15. Self-motivated, innovative, and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams.
16. Stay up to date with industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in site reliability engineering.

Required Qualifications:

1. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command line tools.
2. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, .Net, C#, Java, Shell etc.
3. Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
4. Ability to write and implement IaC and platform automation using Terraform.
5. Strong public cloud provider experience (AWS SysOps or DevOps certification a plus)
6. Experience with source control systems such as Git.
7. Understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.).
8. Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
9. Expertise in monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
10. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
11. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
12. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
13. Experience troubleshooting application issues in an IaaS environment.
14. Experience with agile and iterative development processes.
15. Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
16. Willing to work on any other applications.
