We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Specialist with expertise in Collibra in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid). Key ResponsibilitiesData Governance Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework, policies, and procedures. Manage and administer the Collibra platform, ensuring its effective use across the organization.
Data Quality Management: Establish data quality standards and metrics, monitor data quality, and implement data cleansing and validation processes. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor data governance metrics and progress.
Metadata Management: Oversee the collection, management, and utilization of metadata within Collibra, ensuring it is accurate.
Data Stewardship: Collaborate with data stewards and data owners across departments to ensure adherence to data governance policies and best practices. Ensure data governance policies comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to understand data needs, resolve data issues, and promote a data-driven culture. Provide training and support to data users on data governance policies, Collibra usage.
Identify the existing IT D&A workflow that will be impacted with the implementation of Collibra implementation or with the new Data Governance requirement. For example-
Current User Access & approval workflow (onboarding a new user and off boarding an existing user). Current Issue resolution workflow (the issue is raised in my workplace)
Work with Databricks application Team and IT D&A Data architect to design the workflow that will change due to Collibra implementation.
Support IT D&A team as subject matter expert on Collibra and Data governance workflow
Compare and present various Collibra modules like technical data lineage, DQ etc. with other solutions like Databricks or Octopai etc. (Note- IT D&A data architect will help with various modules to consider and data bricks expertise)
Support IT D&A for the data council discussion in the role of Business analyst, prepare presentations on various topics related to Collibra.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data governance and data management.
Proven experience with Collibra Data Governance Center (DGC) or similar data governance tools.
Proficiency in using Collibra for data governance, including setting up workflows, managing metadata, and ensuring data quality.
Strong understanding of data governance principles and data quality management.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of database management systems, and ETL processes.
Experience with data cataloging, lineage, and stewardship.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Azure-DB data platform desirable.
Preferred QualificationsCertification in Collibra Data Governance (Collibra Ranger or equivalent).
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and their data services.
