Job Details

Looking for a Business Controls Testing Analyst for a client. The ideal candidate has business controls testing experience for the second line of defense. This is a permanent opportunity with a lot of opportunity to grow! Hybrid role in Phoenix or Chandler; 4 days a week in office 1 day remote.
What you'll do:
The Business Controls Testing Analyst will work within the bank's first line of defense (1LOD) and will be responsible for implementing the Control Testing Program. Control Testing Analysts will support Business units by providing testing results, process improvements, and oversight of risk-taking activities throughout the company. Business Controls Testing Analyst will support the implementation, execution, control and completion of specific operational projects and process improvements to enable the leadership team to execute on their strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide risk and control documentation consultation, training and communications to various business units as needed. Assist in assessing operational risks and controls.
  • Leads the execution of objective testing in support of Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
  • Plan testing and reviews. Apply risk analysis principles, determine the scope, including focus, objectives, and rationale, and update the scope as needed.
  • Develop testing strategies, including procedures and selection of samples, sample size, and rationale. Perform testing and reviews according to the testing plan. Evaluate controls, identifying risks appropriately. Revise review programs as needed to accomplish objectives.
  • Conduct and manage documentation of the review process. Prepare working papers, ensure that documentation appropriately supports the testing conclusions, and document process flows and describe major processes within the area being reviewed.
  • Analyze the results of testing and review activities. Analyze exceptions and make recommendations to enhance internal controls and/or increase the efficiency of operations. Ensure that testing is accurate, complete, and in accordance with standards and protocols.
  • Provide consulting services for first line of defense on risk and control issues. May assist the first line of defense in implementation of new / improved processes, and controls.
  • Effectively communicate concepts, processes, and results; effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2 years of experience in Compliance, Operations Management, Audit, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Knowledge of and ability to create, implement, evaluate, and enhance processes in internal controls.
  • Ability to document accurate and succinct risk and control statements.
  • Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data in a particular department or division of a company.
  • Ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
