We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Server Engineer with specialized expertise in maintaining Microsoft Exchange environment and Proofpoint solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust experience in server management, cybersecurity, and email protection systems. This role will involve managing and optimizing our server infrastructure while leveraging Proofpoint technologies to enhance our email security posture. This is an excellent long term opportunity to work for local government in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a hybrid position and would like someone to be in the Greater Atlanta area.

2 Proofpoint: Administer and manage Proofpoint solutions, including Email Protection, Targeted Attack Protection, and other related modules. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Proofpoint systems to ensure optimal performance and security. Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities for Proofpoint systems.
3 Email Security: Implement and manage email security policies and protocols to protect against phishing, malware, and other email-borne threats. Analyze email security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.

-Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure robust security measures and compliance with industry standards.
-Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
-Provide advanced technical support for server and Proofpoint-related issues.
-Mentor and guide junior engineers and IT support staff.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of server and Proofpoint configurations, procedures, and processes.
Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in server engineering or a similar role.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint administration and management.
Technical Skills:
-Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
-Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
-Experience with email systems and security protocols (SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF).
-Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
-Familiarity with other email security solutions and cybersecurity frameworks.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as Proofpoint Certified Security Professional, MCSE, CISSP, M365, Azure Solutions Architect or similar are highly desirable.
