TEKsystems is Hiring a Fire alarm technician Near Tallahassee, FL

Description :

  • Perform installation, service, repair, and installation of engineered and pre-engineered fire suppression systems or fire alarm systems according to company's safety requirements
  • Quote repairs to existing system including labor and materials as well as assembling parts needed and scheduling the task
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality installation, service, repair, and inspections
  • Professionally represent the company at all times
  • Maintain proper stock of equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Survey target accounts for marketing follow up
  • Complete all work orders / paperwork in a professional manner

Additional Skills & Qualifications :

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

  • Knowledge of low voltage wiring, basic computer operation and troubleshooting techniques required
  • 1 or more years of experience in suppression engineered or pre-engineered system installation a plus
  • Experience on inspection and repair of suppression engineered (special hazard) systems a plus
  • Experience with one of the following is required : security systems, fire alarm systems, suppression systems, Access Control, or Nurse call systems is required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lifts equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to adhere to and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision
  • NICET certification in special hazards is a plus
  • Be able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local Codes
