Tektree is Hiring a Construction Estimator Near Plant, FL

  • The client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team.
  • As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our construction projects by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Your responsibilities will extend to planning, coordinating, and supervising the Estimating Department, offering technical and administrative direction to ensure the attainment of corporate objectives.

Leadership:

  • Manage and administer department functions including operating budgets, staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring the initial and ongoing training of employees in the Estimating Department. This includes basic understanding of estimating concepts, corporate philosophy, and proficient use of software systems.
  • Review estimating staff's data to determine if the correct material and labor requirements have been determined.
  • Review cost factors prepared by staff and supervised preparation of detail estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.

Collaboration and Client Relations:

  • Assist corporate management determine what types of projects to bid as well as the strategies and techniques to implement.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues not resolved by the estimating staff.
  • Interface with company senior management and other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.
  • Participate in presentations to corporate management and clients. Manage existing clients' needs in reference to preliminary budgeting resulting in negotiated work.
  • Provide technical assistance during estimating phases per clients' needs.
  • Provide technical assistance in negotiating value engineering, contracts, change orders, etc. as required.

Estimating, Analysis, and Trends:

  • Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.
  • Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation/submittal.
  • Develop new processes and or methods/techniques proprietary to the Company.
  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.
  • Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.
  • Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
  • Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Travel as needed to fulfill position requirements.
  • Education and Experience: A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a combination of related coursework or six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Design software; Development software; Internet software; and Project Management software.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,183.54 - $66,457.59 per year
