Job Description:

The Controls Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our machines by maintaining and troubleshooting control systems, PLCs, and other related equipment.

This position requires a strong understanding of industrial automation systems and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to reduce downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on control systems, PLCs, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues using schematics, diagrams, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Program, configure, and modify PLCs and other control devices to support production requirements and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager and Supervisors to implement new control strategies, upgrades, and enhancements to existing systems
  • Conduct calibration and testing of instrumentation and sensors to maintain accuracy and compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in equipment installations, commissioning, and startup activities, ensuring proper functionality and integration with existing systems
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, equipment configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Any other task or duty that is deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in industrial controls maintenance
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of PLC’s
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical automation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Corrugated industry experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
