About the job Optima Diagnostic Imaging is seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Assistant/X-Ray Technician looking to be part of a dynamic team of health professionals.
The outpatient facility is in the heart of Beverly Hills and provides a variety of healthcare services to the surrounding community and concierge patients. The candidate will be working closely with the physician and be responsible for back office clinical duties such as vital signs, starting IVs, lab draws, injections, EKGs, and getting patients ready for their imaging study (CT scan, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.), plus work as the X-Ray technician. Candidate must be proficient in computers and EMR.
X- Ray Technician License is required and MA experience is required. Essential Functions Ensures that any required consent forms are signed prior to examination. Actively participates in the quality assurance monitoring and recording efforts of the department. Assisting back office including patient flow in and out of rooms. Maintains communication with front desk to ensure patient flow. Compliance with all state and federal radiation safety requirements. Performs radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician. Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current, and exposure time. Positions patients for the proper view of the affected area. Instructs patients for the proper physiological requirements for the procedure. Receives, organizes, scans, faxes, and encounters documents into EMR. Maintains technique charts in rooms in compliance with state law. Obtains vital signs, performs assessments, and rooms patients. Must be able to closely follow physician instructions, prepare radiography equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal images for diagnosis. Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all distinct types of patients including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped. Provides preventive maintenance to equipment and monitors its operation. Documents patient communication and clinical treatments accurately and appropriately within the EMR. Charts patient medications and completes X-ray requests for billing. Discusses radiologic examination results with the departmental supervisor or professional personnel.
EXPERIENCE - One to two years of experience in a clinical setting as a Medical Assistant. One to two years of experience as an X-Ray technician. Proficient computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
