Title: Business Analyst Work Location: Baldwin Park, CA, 91706 Duration: 2 Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Onsite Shift: 8am-5pm Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
- An experienced & hands-on lean/six sigma professional who will lead and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for analysing, developing, driving, and tracking cost reductions, working capital improvements, employee training, deploying Visual Management, leading Kaizen improvement events, and promoting a lean culture across the US Business Unit.
- This individual must possess a willingness and desire to work directly with his/her peers (and their direct reports) in the business unit to define and set a strategy for CIP efforts.
- Lead the coordination and achievement of business goals pertaining to Operational Excellence cost and efficiency improvements.
- Aid the business in working capital goal setting/budgeting and coordinate improvement activities (Kaizen implementation & sustainment).
- Lead visual management implementation and sustainment as key tools to drive change in W/C and OpEx improvements
- Train team members in the understanding and deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Establish cost out targets, budgets, objectives, Kaizen event timetables, policies, capital requirements, material and labor requirements and other key metrics to track and evaluate current and new projects.
- Responsible for participation in the development and implementation of the business’ strategy and readiness to support current and future business objectives.
- Preparation and presentation of strategic plans in support of long-range/short range objectives; help establish budgets and strategies, event timetables, policies, capital requirements, material, and labor requirements in the areas pertaining to lean implementation, OpEx cost savings, and W/C improvements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering (Aerospace/Mechanical/Manufacturing) discipline preferred
- Master’s Degree in Operations/Industrial Management and/or Lean Operations preferred
- Candidates must come from a service or manufacturing based industry that embraces TPS, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma strategies.
- Individuals must have been successful in roles that might include Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Most importantly, they must be ready for the next significant promotion, which might not be available at their present company and must be comfortable in a highly matrixed environment.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in similar role with a history of responsible career progression in the Commercial, Private, and or Military Aviation / MRO industry.
- Demonstrated history of successful change implementation and implementing of operational excellence improvements such as lean manufacturing, demand flow, six sigma, tooling equivalency, and comprehensive regulatory and quality improvement programs.
- Strong communications, interpersonal, leadership, & organizational skills.
- Familiar with manufacturing, machining, test, and calibration environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering (Aerospace/Mechanical/Manufacturing) discipline.
- Master’s degree in Operations/Industrial Management preferred.
- Master or Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred.
- Two automation projects that were introduced to their product line.
- One has been introduced but is not fully running while the other starts in June.
- They have a consultant who is installing the robots and programming.
- This individual is responsible to ensure the CNC machine is running as it should to ensure the consultant can use the robot appropriately.
- This individual will also ensure everything is hooked up to the electrical and set up appropriately via the machine operators.
- This is why engineering background is helpful.
- Are moving their welding station to a different area of the building, which requires ensuring power and that tooling is available to make the transition is as smooth as possible with minimal downtime.
- The original welding station will be used for different production once the welding station is moved.
- Workspace: blend of behind desk and on production floor
- Project Management skills, ability to manage a project and deadline
- Prefers that someone has a CI or engineering background for the automation project, their previous CI specialist had an engineering background bc he would bring ideas and collaborate with the consultant – a level of understanding of how machines operate
- Will not operate any equipment or machines.
- All machine operation will be completed by operators.
- This person is just ensuring that things happen on schedule.
- But with engineering expertise, may be able to make things more efficient.
