Summary:

Teledyne Controls is seeking an Aircraft Data Services Software Engineer to be the focal in helping to support and expand our Aircraft Data Services business in the North Americas region and globally. This is a customer facing role and the candidate should be able to become knowledgeable on the different products used by Teledyne Controls to effectively provide Services to our customers. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

This position can work onsite in El Segundo, CA, Thousand Oaks, CA, or Eagan, MN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The engineer will be involved in all aspects of the deployment, integration, and maintenance of cloud-based Flight Data Services platforms for commercial and cargo airlines.
  • Assist in technical support relationship to drive customer satisfaction by proactively implementing technical solutions for our Services customers.
  • Be able to create reports using data provided by our Services customers and analyzed by our software platforms.
  • Work with tools such as SQL, Tableau, Python, C , etc. to be able to extract meaningful information out of Services customers data.
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and general configuration.
  • Resolve challenging, potentially high impact customer situations with a high level of tact and understanding.
  • Develop and modify algorithms using Teledyne Controls tools to provide customized solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision to support troubleshooting of Teledyne Controls’ software products within cloud-based networking environments.
  • Be able to understand customer needs and identify possible new services opportunities.
  • Effectively interact with the customer and internal engineering teams to provide solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Support and author technical and process related documents and share best practices with fellow team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Services process.
  • Travel to customer sites and industry conferences as necessary domestically and internationally. Up to 25% travel.
  • Training of customers on proper use and operation of Teledyne Controls' products.
  • Lead multiple projects ranging in scope and urgency.
  • Availability outside of normal working hours when necessary to respond to urgent customer needs or reach goals and deadlines.
  • Provide accurate documentation of customer interactions using the CRM tool Salesforce on a daily interval and provides updates to Services Manager.
  • Briefs others on deployment/deliverables status and progress.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aeronautical or other related Engineering discipline.
  • At least a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience with custom software applications and data analysis.
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and general configuration.
  • Basic understanding of aviation and/or avionics system is a plus.
  • Experience working with time series data.
  • Experience working with Tableau, or any other Data Analysis/Visualization software is highly desired.
  • Must be a US Person. (A "U.S. person" can be: A U.S. citizen; permanent resident, political asylee; part of the U.S. government, or corporation, business, organization, or group that is incorporated in the United States under U.S. law.)
