Job Title: Residential Remodeling Estimator

We are currently seeking a talented Construction Estimator to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects.

Estimator Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

Estimator Shift Details:

8-hour shift

Day shift

Monday to Friday; 8am – 5pm

Location: Birmingham and Metro Detroit Area

Estimator Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; or 5 years equivalent experience

- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar role within the residential remodeling industry

- Strong understanding of residential remodeling practices/procedures, materials, project management principles, and estimating practices

- High proficiency with Excel-based estimating programs; WinEstimator highly preferred

- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical documents

- Creative problem solver with the ability to manage a high information load

- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Outstanding written and face-to-face communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently

- Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations

- Experience with on-screen takeoff processes

- Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and bids

- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, architects, and sales

Estimator Job Responsibilities

- Use historic data gathered from job autopsies and budget reports to update and maintain the estimating database in WinEstimator

- Provide a preliminary project cost estimate based on historical project data and client needs

- Perform a full estimation of costs, using WinEstimator, to determine the overall estimated cost of the project by calculating the complete scope of work

- Produce a printed cost estimate report and “quick spec” to be presented to the client

- Establish change order pricing per requests submitted by Project Managers and design team members

- Producing construction contracts to include terms and conditions and detailed specifications

- Work with the sales team to prepare and submit bids and proposals for potential projects

- Ensure timely completion of estimates and submissions before deadlines

- Populate project budgets and labor exports upon sale of contracts
