Our client, a premier real estate firm, is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to enhance their dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, within the real estate sector. Responsibilities:

• Generate internal and external financial reports for management, investors, lenders, and banks.
• Coordinate the onboarding of new investments and investors, including bank account setup, GL setup, opening entries, and communicating investor distributions.
• Administer company cash management procedures and treasury functions.
• Direct and review the full financial reporting cycle for a portfolio of retail properties.
• Evaluate and interpret financial statements, general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, budgets, cash flow projections, and job cost reports.
• Offer technical accounting support and implement process improvements as needed.
• Manage confidential matters with discretion, particularly related to investors, taxes, and distributions.
• Assist the accounting department to ensure timely task completion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; minimum of five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience managing a team with multiple direct reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Prior experience with Yardi and QuickBooks.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and strategic goals.
