Dietary Aide Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting residentsfulfill specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. Inaddition to this, they would be assisting the Dietary Manager in planning,organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the DietaryServices Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, andlocal standards, guidelines, and regulations, established facility policies andprocedures, to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care isprovided.

Dietary Aide Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

1. Their duties include preparing andcooking food dishes, delivering food to patients and assisting the kitchenstaff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace

2. Review department policies,procedures, manuals, position descriptions, at least annually and participatesin making recommended changes to stay current on facility protocols

3. Interprets policies and procedures topersonnel, patients/residents, visitors, family members, as necessary.

4. Preparing meals, snacks and beveragesfollowing specific procedures

5. Serving meals, ensuring food safetyand hygiene procedures are followed at all times

6. Taking inventory of kitchen suppliesand food items

7. Setting up and taking down diningareas and assisting with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning

8. Assisting with educational programson nutrition

Dietary Aide Required Education/Skills/Abilities:

Education: Must possess as a minimum, a high schooldiploma;

Experience: Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred. Bonus experience includes training in cost control, foodmanagement, or diet therapy. Any combination of experience and training whichprovides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities of a Dietary Aide in a skilled nursing facility.

Must have reliable transportation.
