Job Description General Summary: To maintain consistent pacemaker and ICD information and follow up on all enrolled pacemaker and ICD patients. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
Assess and reassess patients with implanted cardiac devices
Provides follow-up for adult and geriatric patients with implanted cardiac devices
Collaborates with other health care providers to assist in the adjustment of plan of care and implement changes as needed
Assists in maintaining a current database for device clinic patients
Knowledge and understanding of proper billing and reimbursement as it applies to implanted cardiac devices
Assist in device clinic scheduling
Performs additional device testing and documentation as needed for but not limited to A -V and V-V echo optimizations and clinical trials
Competently provides patient teaching and provides additional training/resources as needed (i.e. Patient ICD support groups, Health Fairs, etc.).
Triage phone calls from device patient
Other office duties as assigned
Education: Graduate of an approved Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technician program or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Certification : BLS Experience: 1-year cardiology experience. 1 year pacemaker experience preferred #LI-KK1 Responsibilities Performs all duties of an electrophysiology technician. Operates various equipment needed to monitor blood pressure, oxygen level, electrocardiograms, pressure in chambers and vessels in the heart. Prepares patient for electrophysiology study. Sets up all monitors needed and operates associated electrophysiology study equipment. Prepares patient for pacemaker follow-up in clinic and operates all necessary equipment. Adheres to hospital and department policies, procedures, and objectives and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Required: Graduate of an approved Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technician program or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience: Required: 1 year of cardiology experience. Certifications: Required: AHA BLS. Physical Demands:
