Job Description SUMMARY The Health Information Technician II is responsible for performing the prepping, scanning and indexing of cases; Inpatient, SDS, Emergency, Diagnostics and loose filing encounters in conjunction with monitoring the A-130 Report to ensure that all pending cases for coding are available to coders for reduced DNFB and DNFC. The goal is that all encounters are accounted for and department goals are met. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education: High School or Equivalent; RHIT preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications: None Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 1 years HIM Experience or related field; Excellent communications skills verbal and written. Basic mathematical, alphabetizing and numerical skills. Good organizational skills. Demonstrates a courteous manner both on the telephone and in person at all times. Ability to address job duties with numerous interruptions. Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, clinical and ancillary management. Must multitask and prioritize work efficiently. Excellent computer skills. Basic mathematical skills. High degree of integrity, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
