Hilton Head Hospital (HHH) is a 109-bed acute care hospital located at 25 Hospital Center Boulevard in Hilton Head Island, SC. Opened in 1974, HHH serves Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Okatie and surrounding counties through its care team of over 600 colleagues and over 100 physicians. The hospital provides a continuum of services through its centers and programs, including a 24-hour emergency department, critical care, cardiac care ranging from minimally invasive to open heart surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, a nationally accredited breast health center, spine care, gastroenterology, surgical services, cardiac and physical rehabilitation, and a 12-bed geriatric psychiatric inpatient unit. RN OR Full Time Days Position Summary
To provide safe and effective nursing care to all patients through the performance of specific duties during surgical and other invasive procedures. Performs routine circulating and/or scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery.
THE RN OR FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education: Current State of South Carolina Registered Nurse license.
Experience: One year operating room experience of one year specialty area experience preferred
Other Qualifications: Current BLS certification. Current ACLS or obtain within six months of working in operating room.
Responsibilities
The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital's emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
Certifications:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
