Tennessee State Veterans' Homes is Hiring a Dietary Aide Near Murfreesboro, TN
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and portioning of meals according to dietary guidelines and portion control standards
- Set up food trays and dining areas prior to meal service
- Assist in the serving of meals to residents and ensure adherence to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Clean and sanitize work areas, kitchen equipment, and dining areas following established procedures
- Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment and report any shortages or deficiencies
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols and guidelines
- Interact with residents in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly
- Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure efficient and effective meal service
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a food service or healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and safe food handling practices
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks as required
