LOCATION - Hybrid: St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO, Oklahoma City, OK or Denver, COWe understand that life happens and strive to make it easier for employees to juggle work, family and life demands so they can define what fulfillment means to them. As part of our investment in our employees, this role is eligible to participate in Tepa's Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 2 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 2 days per week; work in-office at least 3 days per week).

ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Project Engineer, Structural to assist in project design from the conceptual phase to the construction phase. As a Structural Project Engineer, you will collaborate with the various project teams to develop, refine, and update design criteria, affect design direction, and be responsible for the generation of engineering plans, specifications, and where applicable, cost estimates.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assist with and/or lead the design of buildings and other structures in a variety of markets, such as commercial, federal, and infrastructure
  • Team with engineers and other staff to complete projects on schedule, staying within given scope and budget
  • Coordinate with other engineering and architecture disciplines in producing construction documents
  • Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, specifications, reports, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for a variety of projects
  • Perform construction administration tasks as contracts require, including coordinating with construction professionals, reviewing shop drawings, visiting sites, and answering RFI's
  • Perform work including a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements
  • Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required
    • Engineer-In Training certification preferred
    • 0-3 years of engineering experience within the civil engineering and design industry
    • Previous Federal Government project design experience preferred
    • Basic knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
    • Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
    • Basic computer skills in Revit and AutoCAD
    • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
