Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Receiving Specialist to join our team and oversee the receiving and inspection of materials and components used in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate documentation of received goods, verify quantities and quality against specifications, and maintain efficient flow of materials to support production schedules. The Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting smooth operations within our manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies.
  • Inspect received goods for quality, quantity, and specifications.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.
  • Document and record all incoming materials accurately in inventory systems or databases.
  • Label, tag, and properly store received materials in designated warehouse or production areas.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding shipment discrepancies or issues.
  • Coordinate with production scheduling to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and storage areas.
  • Assist in periodic physical inventory counts and audits.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards in handling and storing materials.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively (certification preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support production schedules.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receiving clerk in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
Working conditions
  • Working conditions may include working outside of a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time.
  • PPE is required per company procedures and includes safety shoes, safety glasses and safety vest.
Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
